'Evening darlings! Recently I've been noticing a trend, the pastel/bubble goth. Now i don't believe in fashion tribes because i think it's such a simplistic way of classifying one's style (but if you feel like you belong in a certain one i've got nothing against it!). I've also read some blogs where people claim it's a goth subculture and it turns into a pretty heated debate about whether these people are true goths or just posers. I won't talk about that either because even though i think sub cultures like goth and punk etc are a very interesting subject i don't feel like i know enough about their lifestyle or origins to opinionate about it. And really it's not the point of this post.
Boa noite darlings! Recentemente comecei a reparar numa "moda", o gótico pastel. Bem eu não acredito em "tribos de moda" porque acho que é uma maneira limitada de classificar o estilo de uma pessoa (mas se te sentes confortável em pertencer a uma tribo específica não tenho nada contra!). Também li alguns blogs em que as pessoas dizem ser uma nova subcultura do estilo gótico e acaba num debate bastante aceso acerca de se estas pessoas são verdadeiros góticos ou apenas "posers". Também não vou falar sobre isso porque embora ache que subculturas como gótico, punk etc são um assunto bastante interessante, sinto que não conheço o suficiente sobre os seus estilos de vida ou origens para opinar sobre isso. E não tem a ver com o objectivo deste post de qualquer maneira.
I just love everything about Pastel goth aesthetically. I love the the soft colours combined with the edge of goth imagery such as crosses and pentagrams. It's so yin/yang (a motif that often appears in pastel goth outfits too). It's not an easy style to pull off. In my opinion it's very much about balance. Most girls rockying this trend have colourful hair (or just dip dyed) which is another trend that i love (as i have a pink ombre myself ahah) but i've seen some girls just making it work with acessories and make up. If you feel like this style is for you don't go out of your confort zone and dye your hair teal just for the sake of it and pile up a bunch of cross necklaces to "gothify" your look. You really need to feel this style and have fun with it and be yourself. I think that's what pastel goth is all about. I'll leave you with some inspiration :)
Esteticamente adoro tudo no gótico pastel. Adoro as cores suaves combinadas com a força dos símbolos góticos como crucifixos e pentagramas. É tão yin-yang (um motivo que por acaso aparece bastante em outifts gótico pastel). Não é um estilo fácil de usar. Na minha opinião é muito sobre equilíbrio. A maior parte das raparigas que vejo neste estilo têm cabelo colorido (ou só as pontas pintadas) que é outra moda que adoro (já que tenho as minhas próprias pontas de cabelo pintadas de cor de rosa ahah) mas já vi raparigas a fazer este estilo funcionar só com maquilhagem e acessórios. Se sentes que este estilo é para ti não saias da tua zona de conforto e pintes o cabelo de verde-azulado só porque sim ou enfies imensos colares de cruzes no pescoço para "gotificar" o teu look. É preciso sentir mesmo este estilo e divertires-te com os teus looks e seres tu própria. Eu acho que isso é basicamente o que o gótico pastel representa. Deixo alguma inspiração visual :)
