Questions from my nominator:

1. What inspired you to begin blogging?

I started blogging to vent all my fashion/beauty thoughts. It's entertaining and i don't bother my friends (which are mostly male) with constant fashion topics. I still bother them though. Just not as much ahah.

2. How would you describe your personal style?

It depends on my mood I guess. I tend to like clothes and acessories that look dainty but also look like they could hurt you (think late 60's/ 70's flower child with a leather jacket full of spikes)

3. What is the meaning behind your blog's title?

My first blog was called "Yellow is cool". I like the idea of pretty pastel colours being described as cool instead of "pretty".

4. What is your nationality/ethnic background?

 I'm Portuguese. But my paternal grandfather was dutch and my grandmother was african. I hear we might have some irish in the family as well.
5. If you could only go on one website again for the rest of your life, which website would it be?

Lookbook.nu (Fashion inspiration in the morning with a cup of coffee)

6. What do you do for fun besides blog?

I really love drawing. Illustrastion is another dream job of mine.

7. Do you have a celebrity crush, and if so who is it and why?Gosh this is hard. My male crush has to be Ryan Gosling because not only he is an amazing actor and incredibly gorgeous but he also has this really cool style (ahem pajama suit on cannes).

Female Crush: Emma Stone because she's beautiful, super funny and dyed her hair red to make her mark on Hollywood.

8. What's your favorite quote?

9. Do you prefer cities or the countryside?
Cities for the opportunities and the countryside for the life quality.

10. Do you have any quirky or interesting talents?I can speak like Gollum. Seriously it's like I'm possessed.

11. Who would win in a fight: a T-Rex with machine gun arms, or a shark with laser eyes and a jet pack? The T-Rex anyday. Even without the machine gun arms!

Last Summer Sales

 topshop lilac bralette (wanted it forever) / H&M polkadot tights/ primark love skinny belt/ primark vanilla cupcake candle/ Lush Marilyn hair treatment (i tried it already and it's quite amazing.)

 pull&bear peach shirt and polka dot dress (buy here) / primark sheer high low skirt (which wasn't actually on sale but was only 11€ - bargain!)

 H&M "je t'aime" nail polish/ MIYO "glitzy gold" nail polish

I had to include swatches because the colors are beautiful and the quality is pretty amazing!
(3 days after application )

 this is after 2 coats, as you can see it has some golden shimmer to it and some pink hues. I tried it on top of a burgundy polish and it became this amazing deep shimmery red color. perfect for a christmas party.

I used 3 coats and it's still a bit sheer (in direct light) but i like that sort of subtle glitz.

I need to work on better ways of showing you guys stuff, hopefully you'll see them better in OOTD's which i plan on start doing more often. Also if you want any reviews on the polishes or the marilyn treatment let me know. xx

Long haired vixens

 Three of my favorite girls which happen to be my hair icons as well. I love super long hair that even when cut manages to look huge anyway (Kaya Scodelario's hair only got to "boob-lenght" recently but somehow i always imagined her hair longer that in reality). Not only these ladies rock the straight/wavy/curly hair perfectly but also they always choose lovely colors. I loved Lana del Rey's auburn-dark brown transition. Since i have a similar colour to her "blonder" days it got me thinking about going darker. I'm not so sure about her black hair right now (seems to make her washed-out) but with full make up she looks like 40's movie star. Sky is also pretty bold with the longest hair of the bunch and she rocks dark roots like no one!

Nostalgic Inspiration

Hi everyone! Around this time of the year I always get the urge (as most of you girls i'm sure) to burn my entire wardrobe and buy everything new. But right now i'm loving a lot of stuff i actually used wear when i was younger. And some of the trends i've been spotting (not necessarily from 2012 fall/winter) have made me feel somehow sort of nostalgic.

Olá a todos! Por volta desta altura do ano eu tenho sempre um sentido de urgência (como a maior parte das meninas há de saber) em queimar todo o meu guarda-roupa e comprar um monte de peças novas. Mas por agora estou a adorar uma data de coisas que na realidade eu costumava usar quando era mais nova. E algumas trends que tenho visto (não necessariamente do Outono/Inverno 2012) têm me feito sentir algo nostálgica.

I loved this make up. The bright eyes and soft pink lips reminded me of my first attempts at make up (not that i improved much). I love the mermaid vibe with the pastel colors and the 'eye-bling'.

Adorei este look de maquilhagem. Os olhos brilhantes e os lábios cor de rosa claro lembraram-me as minhas primeiras tentativas com maquilhagem (que não melhoraram muito mais). Adoro a vibe de sereia com os tons pastel e os cristais nos olhos.

70's inspired beauty look

I love everything about the 70's even though it's not true nostalgia because i wasn't even alive back then .
I will definitely try this look with the purple lip (since it's another trend i'm loving this fall).

Adoro tudo relacionado com os 70's, apesar de não ser verdadeiramente nostalgia porque nem sequer tinha nascido nessa altura. Vou definitivamente experimentar este look com os lábios roxos (já que é outra trend que estou a adorar para este Outono).

 

Body - con and sneakers
This one has been around for a long time. Body-con dresses and skirts with converse all star shoes. A few years ago i had 10+ pairs of sneakers and i would wear them with skirts mostly. Now only wear skirts with 'real' shoes. But i really wanna get back to my sneakers. Vans mostly. I'm not really a fan of converse all star. I'm not really a Blake Lively fan either but i must admit those two together look great.

Esta já anda por aí há algum tempo. Vestidos e saias com silhueta body-con emparelhados com ténis converse all star. Há uns anos atrás eu tinha mais de 10 pares de ténis e usava-os a todos principalmente com saias. Agora só uso saias com sapatos 'a sério'. Mas ultimamente quero mesmo regressar aos meus ténis. Que são na maioria vans. Não só fã de converse all star. Também não sou fã da Blake Lively mas tenho de confessar que os dois juntos ficam muito bem!

Skye from Terra Nova TV series
I just finished watching the season 1 and i'm so sad it got canceled. Not because it was a good show (trust me it wasn't) but i won't be able to watch the lovely Allison Miller playing Skye. She had the most perfect natural curls and a really cool sporty/survivalist style. Much like the teenage me (except I hated my curls back then). I don't know how to explain it even though it's the same sort of style people wear on other sci-fi shows Skye just seems to add a cool element to it. Maybe that white shirt she wore on the first episode :)

Acabei agora de ver a 1ª temporada e estou tão triste que tenham cancelado a série. Não porque era um bom programa (acreditem não era) mas agora não vou poder ver a adorável Allison Miller interpretar Skye. Ela tinha os caracóis naturais mais perfeitos e um estilo desportivo/natureza bastante cool. Muito à semelhança do meu "eu" adolescente (excepto que eu odiava os meus caracóis). Não se bem como explicar porque é o mesmo estilo de roupa que as personagens usam em séries de ficção científica mas a Skye acrescenta qualquer coisa de especial ao seu estilo. Talvez a camisa branca que usou no primeiro episódio :)

BackpacksNow that's some real nostalgia. I wore back packs until 2nd year of college. Expensive eastpaks and whatnot. Much like my sneaker obcession this was my other 'juvenile' obcession which i never thought i would leave behind. But i've been seeing this really cool black numbers. All faux leather and studs. I would consider a brown one but since you're already making a statement with a back pack why not go all out?

Agora sim, nostalgia a sério. Eu usei mochilas até ao 2º ano da faculdade. Eastpaks caras e não sei quê. Tal como a minha obsessão com ténis esta era a minha outra obsessão 'juvenil' que nunca pensei abandonar. Ma ultimamente tenho visto estes exemplos pretos incríveis. De cabedal e com tachas. Eu até considerei uma castanha mas já que estamos a fazer um statement com uma mochila porque não elevar tudo ao máximo?
