Monochrome Madness

Yes, most of you probably already noticed black&white patterns are trending so hard right now. But I just can't help it. I've been so surprised with 2012's trends: burgundy, leather, velvet, studs... Because those were things I've been loving for a long time and it's really interesting for me to see people interpreting those trends (there were a few over studded disasters but oh well!). Now with the black and white dotted, striped and checkered madness I'm just in heaven right now. To think my friends made fun of me for owning 3 different black&white stripe sweaters ha!

Sim, a maior parte de vocês provavelmente já percebeu que os padrões monocromáticos estão super na moda neste momento. Mas eu não consigo evitar. Fiquei tão surpresa com as tendências de 2012: borgonha, cabedal, veludo, tachas... Porque eram coisas que já adorava há bastante tempo e foi bastante interessante ver tantas pessoas a intrepertar essas tendências à sua maneira (aconteceram alguns desastres com "demasiadas" tachas, mas pronto!). Agora com a loucura às bolinhas, riscas e xadrez monocromático estou no céu! E pensar que os meus amigos gozam comigo por ter 3 camisolas às riscas pretas e brancas ha!

I love those polkadot shorts (nastygal) unfortunately I can't justify buying them as I already own 2 polkadot dresses (black with white dots/ white with black dots - insanity)
The skirt (Romwe) is just amazing. It's a tweed skirt with a houndstooth pattern. C'mon.
The striped sweater (Pull&Bear) and dress (H&M) have this really cool optical illusion feeling to them which makes them statement pieces by themselves.
I tend to find animal prints kinda tacky but that leopard (i think) sweater (Pull&Bear) is so amazing, the pattern looks more like a twisted version of kiss stains. It went on sale a few days ago and now I can't find it :(


I find it pretty daring to clash different styles of patterns, but you can't go wrong with black&white because it's a perfect color combo: simple, fresh and put together. A red lip will be the cherry on top. I'll leave you guys with some inspiration.

Eu acho bastante corajoso contrastar dois padrões diferentes num outfit, mas é difícil errar com preto&branco porque é uma combinação cromática perfeita: simples, moderno e sofisticado. Lábios vermelhos é a cereja no topo. Deixo-vos com alguma inspiração.

(Nasty Gal Lookbook January)

Oxblood velvet skirt

I got this beauty today from the very popular online store ROMWE. It was my first purchase there and everything went great. It took less then 2 weeks and it was well packaged in a zipped plastic bag.
I can already tell it's going to be a winter stable. The quality is much better than i hoped for. In the site the skirt is described as "crimson metallic skirt" but it's definitely a velvet blend material. The elasticated waist is very thick and tight so i don't think it's going to get loose anytime soon! I got it in a small size and i'd say it's pretty true to size.
It cost me around 20€ (with a coupon) which is much cheaper then the alternatives i was considering.

Eu recebi esta beleza hoje, vinda do popular site de roupa online ROMWE. Foi a minha primeira compra de lá e correu tudo bem. Demorou menos de duas semanas a chegar, vinha bastante bem embrulhada num pacote de plástico zipado. Já consigo perceber que vai ser um básico de outono. A qualidade é muito melhor do que etsava à espera. No site descrevem a saia como "saia metálica vermelhão" mas é definitivamente um tecido tipo veludo. O elástico na cintura é grosso e apertado por isso acho que não vai alargar nos próximos tempos!  Eu comprei um tamanho small e diria que os tamanhos são bastante correctos. Custou-me cerca de 20€ (com um cupão) o que é bastante mais barato que as alternativas que estava a considerar.

OOTD (it's getting really hard to find nice light to take pictures around my house, bear with me!)
So i think this skirt can pretty much go with anything. I paired it with my favorite combo so far this fall. A vintage white woolen sweather (from my mom) and my old H&M leather cropped jacket.  I'm wearling basic black tights and black canvas shoes. My only piece of jewlery is this awesome spiked (the spikes remind me of fossilized teeth) bracelet from claire's.

Eu acho que esta saia basicamente vai bem com tudo. Eu combinei-a com uma camisola branca de lã vintage (da minha mãe) e o meu velho casaco de cabedal da H&M. Estou a usar collants pretas básicas e sapatos tipo vans pretos. A minha única peça de joalharia é esta pulseira de picos (que me lembram dentes fossilizados) da claire's.
